CAC Futures Updates

French stocks showed mixed results Friday morning as investors responded to geopolitical news and regional manufacturing reports. Trading volumes were low as many traders remained on the sidelines after recent holidays. CAC 40 rises 9.50 points, up 0.11% to 8,159.00 just before noon. The index rose to 8,221.78.

  • STMicroElectronics surged 3.75%.
  • Stellantis up nearly 2%, Safran rises 1.75%.
  • Airbus, Kering, Engie, Capgemini, Orange, and ArcelorMittal rose by 1 to 1.5%.
  • Thales, TotalEnergies, Renault, Societe Generale, Carrefour, BNP Paribas, Bouygues,
    and Unibail Rodamco rose by 0.35% to 1%.
  • Saint Gobain, Air Liquide, Accor, Eifage, Danone, L’Oreal, EssilorLuxottica, LVMH,
    and Bureau Veritas dipped by 0.4 to 1%.

France’s HCOB Manufacturing PMI surged to 50.7 in December, up from 47.8 in November, signaling growth after three months of decline and the strongest improvement since June 2022. In December, the HCOB Eurozone Manufacturing PMI dropped to 48.8, falling short of the preliminary estimate of 49.2 and November’s 49.6, signaling the quickest contraction since March.
