France’s equity benchmark CAC 40 advanced on Monday as stocks strengthened amid a slight alleviation of inflation concerns following a significant drop in oil prices, fuelled by optimism for diplomatic progress to mitigate tensions in the Middle East. Prior to a pivotal meeting between Gulf-state leaders and U.S. President Trump on the fringes of the UN General Assembly, Trump threatened Iran with economic collapse or the eradication of its leadership if it failed to reach an agreement.

Trump suggested the possibility of a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in New York, stating that significant developments could occur soon and that he is currently in a “deciding mode” regarding military action, ongoing economic pressure, or a potential agreement. Brent crude futures declined to 101.19, experiencing a decrease of over 2.5%. The CAC 40 increased by 79.06 points, reflecting a rise of 0.98%, reaching 8,144.08 shortly after noon.
