Oil prices reached a three-week peak amid continued uncertainty regarding shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz and persistent supply disruptions. Financials and the broader market continued to face challenges due to inflationary pressures driven by energy factors related to the US-Iran conflict, as investors awaited the release of the US Fed’s July meeting minutes.

France’s 10-year yield has recently reached its peak level since 2008. BNP Paribas experienced a decline of 2.4%, AXA saw a decrease of 1.3%, Crédit Agricole fell by 2.6%, and Société Générale retreated by 3.8%. Industrials experienced declines, with Airbus decreasing by 0.8%, Safran falling by 1.1%, and Thales declining by 2.3%.

STMicroelectronics experienced a decline of 3.1%, reflecting the ongoing selloff among US chipmakers. In contrast, TotalEnergies experienced a 1% increase attributed to the rise in oil prices. Luxury stocks contributed to mitigating losses, with LVMH increasing by 1.8%, L’Oréal gaining 1.9%, Hermès appreciating by 1.4%, and Kering progressing by 1.7%.
