French stocks experienced an uptick on Monday, fuelled by increasing optimism regarding a potential peace agreement between Iran and the U.S. that may lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. A significant decline in crude oil prices alleviated worries regarding inflation.

Brent crude prices declined to approximately $94.11 a barrel, reflecting a decrease of over 6%. The benchmark CAC 40 increased by 123.32 points, reflecting a rise of 1.52%, reaching 8,239.07 just after noon.

  • Safran experienced an increase of 5.2%, and Accor saw a rise of 4.5%.
  • Meanwhile, Renault, Societe Generale, Saint Gobain, Vinci, and Airbus all recorded gains between 3% and 4%.
  • Stellantis, Eiffage, and BNP Paribas experienced an increase of 2.6%, whereas Schneider Electric, Hermes International, Credit Agricole, Bouytues, ArcelorMittal, and Kering saw gains ranging from 2% to 3%.
  • Capgemini, Veolia Environment, Air Liquide, EssilorLuxottica, Michelin, LVMH, Dassault Systemes, Unibail Rodamco, Pernod Ricard, and Publicis Groupe experienced significant upward movement.
  • TotalEnergies experienced a decline of 1.7%. Euronext and STMicroelectronics recorded decreases of 1.1% and 1%, respectively.
