CAC Futures Morning Update on 11 January 2019

The CAC 40 Futures is trading at 4,817.50 up with +0.14% percent or +6.50 point.The FTSE 100 Futures is trading at 6,892.50  with a loss of -0.04% percent or -2.50 point. The DAX Futures is trading at 10,937.80 with a loss of -0.13% percent or -13.70 point. The EURO Stoxx 50 Futures trading at 3,069.50  with a loss of -0.11% percent or -3.50 point.

TODAY’S FACTORS AND EVENTS

Market sentiment was fragile as investors digested lower-than-expected Chinese inflation data overnight and failed US government shutdown talks. Trade relations between the US and China were still in focus after the Chinese Commerce Industry issued a statement saying that the “extensive, deep and detailed” three-day talks between the two countries had “laid the foundations” for their dispute to be resolved.

“The right kind of noise, then, but not exactly the definitive signs of actual progress the markets were hoping for given their movements in the last few days,” said Spreadex analyst Connor Campbell.

For the day France’s CAC  40 closed at 4,805.66  with a loss of -0.16% percent or -7.91 point.the FTSE 100 closed at 6,942.87 up with +0.52% percent or +36.24 point.  Germany’s DAX closed at 10,921.59  up with +0.26% percent or +28.27 point.

WORLD MARKETS

For the day the Dow is trading at 24,001.92  up with  +0.51% percent or +122.80 point. The S&P 500 is trading at 2,596.64  up with +0.45% percent or +11.68 point. The Nasdaq Composite is trading at +6,986.07 up with +0.42% percent or +28.99 point.

In other parts of world, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading at 20,359.70 up with +0.97% percent or +195.90 point. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is trading at 26,650.70  up with +0.49% percent or +129.27 point. China’s Shanghai Composite is trading at 2,553.22 up with +0.71% percent or  +18.12 point. India’s BSE Sensex is trading at 35,937.46  with a loss of -0.47% percent or -169.04 point at 12:15 PM.
