The CAC 40 experienced a 0.4% increase on Friday, recovering from two consecutive days of declines as a decline in oil prices and global bond yields provided some respite to investors. A rate rise of 25 basis points was recently adopted by the European Central Bank in Europe. This is the second increase that the ECM has implemented this year. The purpose of this increase was to combat the inflationary pressures that were caused by the rising cost of energy.

The ECB has cautioned that price pressures may be enduring, potentially leading to anticipations of additional policy tightening as soon as October. Notable gainers included Airbus at 1.6%, Safran at 2%, Societe Generale at 1%, and Kering at 1%. Despite Friday’s rebound, the CAC 40 continued to trend toward its fifth consecutive weekly decline.
