Investor attention has shifted to Nvidia’s upcoming earnings report due Wednesday, as the results are anticipated to provide a critical assessment of the robustness and sustainability of the AI-driven market.

Investors remained engaged in evaluating the ongoing developments related to US-Iran tensions, particularly following Washington’s warning of a “economic D-Day” through the imposition of stricter sanctions on Iran, which did not produce the anticipated degree of market disruption. Domestically, the consumer confidence index held steady at 86 in August, missing projections of 87 and remaining significantly below its long-term average of 100, underscoring persistent caution among households.

Notable gainers included Airbus at 1.4%, Safran at 1.5%, and Legrand at 1.1%. Meanwhile, luxury stocks underperformed relative to the broader market, with LVMH declining by 0.7%, Hermès decreasing by 0.3%, and Kering experiencing a drop of 1.1%.
