Paris equities are exhibiting signs of weakness on Friday, following preliminary data that indicated a decline in the nation’s services sector activity for the month of October. Market participants are responding to corporate earnings announcements while anticipating the forthcoming release of postponed U.S. inflation data for September. The benchmark CAC 40 experienced a decline of 36.10 points, reflecting a decrease of 0.44%, settling at 8,189.68.
The aerospace group has increased its full-year forecasts; however, it cautioned about a lingering impact from tariffs on its net income. Meanwhile, Accor is experiencing an increase of 5.4%. The hospitality major announced on Thursday that revenue per room increased by 0.8% in the third quarter to Euro 78. Additionally, the company indicated that it is evaluating the potential for an initial public offering for the Ennismore lifestyle hotel and restaurant entity, in which it holds a significant stake. Shares of drug major Sanofi have reduced the majority of their initial gains and are currently up 0.3%. The stock experienced an increase following its third-quarter earnings surpassing expectations. According to preliminary estimates, the HCOB France Composite PMI experienced a decrease, falling to 46.8 in October from 48.1 in the preceding month. This represents the 14th consecutive month of contraction in private sector activity, with the most significant decline observed since February.
The Services PMI decreased to 47.1 from 48.5% in September, whereas the manufacturing PMI saw a modest increase to 48.3 from 48.2. In October, the Eurozone experienced a notable increase in business activity, reaching a 17-month peak, as evidenced by the Composite PMI which rose to 52.2 from 51.2, largely propelled by the services sector.
