
CAC Futures exhibited a generally subdued performance in a somewhat lackluster trading environment on Thursday, as the prospects for an early Parliamentary election in the country appeared to diminish. French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to announce the appointment of a new prime minister tomorrow.
Reports indicate that a significant number of lawmakers opposed the idea of conducting a snap parliamentary election during what is being described as France’s most severe crisis in decades. The benchmark CAC 40, oscillating within a narrow band of 8,053.67 to 8,088.98, recorded an increase of 13.47 points or 0.17%, standing at 8,073.60 just moments ago. Where as –
- Danone is experiencing an increase of over 4%.
- Stellantis, Credit Agricole, Kering, Vinci, Engie, Renault, Bouygues,
and Carrefour are experiencing an increase ranging from 1.1% to 1.7%. - Michelin is experiencing a decline of approximately 4.4%. ArcelorMittal and
Capgemini have experienced declines of 1.3% and 1.2%, respectively.
Euronext, Orange, Saint Gobain, Societe Generale, BNP Paribas, Veolia Environment, Schneider Electric, Air Liquide, and Bureau Veritas have experienced an increase ranging from 0.6% to 1%. L’Oreal, Sanofi, Hermes International, Legrand, Sanofi, Thales, and LVMH have experienced declines ranging from 0.5% to 1%.
